Meet Malia
Unparalleled Experience Unique to County Government.
Malia Malone joined Attolles Law in August of 2024 after serving as the Corporation Counsel for a county in the northwestern part of Wisconsin. As the in-house legal counsel for Polk County Wisconsin for over 18 years, she developed a unique affinity for helping counties navigate through both the routine and complex.
In her career, Malia has successfully handled complex civil litigation in county-specific matters. She has also handled sensitive matters, including mental commitments, guardianships, children in need of protection or services, and termination of parental rights.
In addition to her work in the courtroom, Malia helped the County successfully navigate the changes to local governments during the implementation of Act10, which dramatically changed the landscape of employee relations in the public sector. Malia’s unique skill set is shown through her incredible work both in the courtroom and the boardroom and she is eager to bring that talent to bear for other counties across Wisconsin.
Malia’s experience extends to zoning and land use issues, public records law, open meetings law, and administrative law. With her master’s degree in public administration, she understands the important relationship between public policy and the citizens counties serve. This understanding lies at the heart of Malia’s personal mission – to assist counties ensure their mission of service is fully realized.
